Services for academics and researchers

As a national centre for geology we have a number of facilities available for use by researchers and universities.

Biostratigraphy & Palaeontology

Consultancy: petroleum exploration, civil engineering, geohazards, macropalaeontology, micropalaeontology and palynology expertise

Corporate collections

Search our databases: borehole & core, palaeontology, photographic, mineralogy and petrology. Includes map collections and PalaeoSaurus

Digital products

3D geology — models
Data sets — geochemistry, geophysical, minerals, groundwater and flooding
Maps — UK geology onshore and offshore

GeoScholar is a set of free geological data available in GIS format for UK universities, to support teaching and learning within the geosciences.
